Does my screenshot leave my computer?
No. The editor runs on your computer. Images and PDFs are processed locally. Text detection downloads an OCR engine and language model, but does not upload your file. Payment checkout is separate and never receives your document.
What counts as a free shot?
Opening a new file that the free plan can export uses one shot. Reopening the same file on the same day is free. The five-shot allowance resets at local midnight. Long PDFs open in preview without using a shot.
Can I use it without Raycast Pro?
Yes. Cloakshot does not use Raycast AI or require a Raycast Pro subscription. Cloakshot Pro is its own optional once-off upgrade.
Is blur enough for sensitive information?
Use a solid fill for sensitive text and secrets. Blur and mosaic are visual effects and may leave information recognizable. Redacted PDF pages are flattened into a new document so covered text is removed from the text layer.
